Songs To Make Kids Happy
produced by Skip Haynes and Dana Walden, contains sixteen animal powered songs that kids and animals have chosen as their favorites. The CD features the “hit” songs “Squeaky Deaky” (the big hit with dogs) and “I’m A Green Chicken” sung by a very talented parrot named Carla.

“We gave our entire line of CDs to kids and asked them listen to them, tell us if they liked any of the songs, and if so, which were their favorites. The songs on the CD were chosen (and some of them written and performed) by kids themselves,” says co-producer Haynes. “They were also chosen and performed by animals themselves. From Koko the gorilla to focus groups of dogs to pink dolphins in the Amazon to a parrot singing lead vocals. There’s one thing I can tell you — kids and animals say the darndest things.”

Kids can also learn from these songs, as many of them are associated with organizations particular to the species each song is about. From the intuitive animal communicating of Dr. Kim Ogden to Dr. Francine Patterson’s Koko of the Gorilla Foundation to Mira Tweti’s Parrot Press to the pink dolphins of Roxanne Kremer’s International Society For The Preservation Of The Tropical Rainforest to Sy Montgomery’s book, Journey of the Pink Dolphins there is a wealth of knowledge and inspiration for kids attached to Songs To Make Kids Happy. |
