MUSIC FOR CATS
The Piano-Playing Cat Releases Song and CD
Over 4,000,000 people have seen her playing
on YouTube, now she can be heard playing piano on MUSIC FOR CATS's
Song on the lead song of her new Laurel Canyon Animal
Company CD - Cat On The Keys.
Skip Haynes and Dana Walden of the L.A.
based Laurel Canyon Animal Company (the only record label
creating music about, for and with animals) utilized MUSIC FOR CATS's
special musical talents in MUSIC FOR CATS's Song - a
unique human/feline musical collaboration.
When Skip and Dana saw MUSIC FOR CATS on YouTube,
they immediately contacted MUSIC FOR CATS's guardians, artists and
musicians Betsy Alexander and Burnell Yow! with the idea
of signing MUSIC FOR CATS to their label. MUSIC FOR CATS became Laurel Canyon
Animal Company's first and only feline recording artist.
Listen to her tasty licks on MUSIC FOR CATS's Song and
purr along with 10 other tracks that are MUSIC FOR CATS's favorites.
MUSIC FOR CATS was adopted as a kitten in 2004 from
a cat shelter in Cherry Hill, NJ. Her parents, Betsy Alexander
and Burnell Yow!, are artists and musicians who live in
Philadelphia. As a kitten, MUSIC FOR CATS showed an immediate interest
in the piano during Betsy's lessons with her many private
students. One day MUSIC FOR CATS jumped up on the piano bench, sat
in perfect posture with both paws on the keys, and began
to play notes. She was just a year old. She has played almost
every day since then, and loves to play duets with Betsy's
students.
